Red Packets

In Chinese society, a red envelope or red packet (Known as Hong Bao in Mandarin and Lai See in Cantonese) is a monetary gift which is given during holidays or special occasions.

Red envelopes are often presented at social and family gatherings such as Chinese weddings or on holidays such as Chinese New Year. The red color of the envelope symbolizes good luck.

During Chinese New Year, red envelopes are typically given to the unmarried by the married, regardless of age.

From the old saying goes, the money in the red envelopes are not suppose to be open for usage until Chinese New Year is over, else bad luck befall on you for the whole year.these belong to our kids...they're really Lucky! mine's tucked in there somewhere too *wink* sometimes Banks and Companies have these really great looking Red Packets and i Love to collect them! Mickey Mouse is very popular this year :)

Paediatrician & Shopping
my younger two had an hour of school this morning. it was a Chinese New Year party and same thing each year, bring chocolates and sweets to school to share with friends and bring home a whole bag filled with goodies!!! they Love it! :D

Anis had his check up due and we went to Thomson Medical. here's my Brave Little Boy who didn't cry at all when given his jab :D overall summary, he's doing great, growing well for a 3 year old :) Thankfully!

and we went to Orchard Road... went to Sony Service Centre to get my cybershot fixed. love that digital camera of mine! been with me for more almost 3 years now and even though everything is newer and slimmer nowadays, that bulky point and shoot cybershot will always have a place in my heart :D

and then to Le SportSac and i bought me this... another one to add to my collection :)

it's been a Lovely Monday! and Thanks to Adoncia for meeting up with me :) hope your Little Baby Girl will get well soon. *hugs*

Congrats to my Groovie Girlfriend Stephanie on making it to a Design Team! yippee!!! :D
